Where History and Charm Meet

The Hudson House River Inn of Cold Spring

Step Back in Time, and
Embrace Timeless Hospitality

`For over 175 years, the Hudson House River Inn has been a beacon of warm hospitality. With great care for its historic charm, we seamlessly blend classic elegance with modern comfort. Our two spacious guest suites and eleven beautifully appointed rooms—many featuring balconies with breathtaking Hudson River views—offer luxurious linens, period furnishings, private baths, and contemporary amenities, all designed to create a tranquil and restful retreat.

Built in 1827 and welcoming guests since 1832, the Hudson House River Inn is a true piece of Hudson River history. Originally known as the Pacific Hotel, later the Hudson View Inn, our inn sits gracefully on the serene Cold Spring waterfront—a historic village known for producing the famed Civil War Parrott guns. As one of the largest and oldest inns on the Hudson River, the building has undergone thoughtful transformations while preserving many original details that tell its story.

In 1982, the Hudson House was officially placed on the National Register of Historic Places, earning the distinction of being the second-oldest continuously operated inn in New York State.

Our two main dining areas — the River Room and the Half Moon Tavern — redefine the term “inn.” Lunch or dinner in the River Room may include fresh seafood, New Zealand rack of lamb, veal and regional specialties, accompanied by our award winning wine list. The casual Half Moon Tavern, complete with fireplace and period dècor, serves cocktails and informal fare. Both dining rooms are open to the public year-round.

We welcome you to our charming village of Cold Spring and look forward to making your stay a memorable one.
